Position Title:  Project OFFICER

Level:                          Fixed Contract

Remuneration:         1800- 2000 USD/ month – depending on qualifications

Location:                   Erbil

Duration:                    8 months – with possible extension

Start Date:                 Subject to funding availability

Reporting to:            Country Director

Overall responsibilities

The Project Assistant is responsible for the financial and administrative management of the project activities and assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual work plans and progress reports for review and monitoring by the Board of Directors.

Task or Specific Activities

·       Provides a high level of coordination and organizational support to Country Director/ Project Manager;

·       Visits sub-offices and conduct field missions as necessary;

·       Manages the logistics of and coordinating content development for meetings, conferences, trainings, and other project-related events;

·       Communication with project partners and stakeholders for project activities, to optimize access and to ensure timely organization and facilitation of activities relating to project implementation;

·       Designs and develops databases to support project activities;

·       Follow up with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department for progress report, submission of reports and recent data on target group and other information material;

·       Assists with design, development and dissemination of project products and reports;

·       Assists in coordination and monitoring of project activities and budgets;

·       Assists in preparation of Terms of Reference for engagement of contracted staff for the need of implementation of the project;

·       Assist Country Director in report development for donor/s; monitors that expenditures and activities are in compliance with budgeted costs and proposal.

·       Assist the project team in generation and dissemination of high quality information about project activities among national and international stakeholders.

·       Ensure that IMPACT procurement rules are followed in procurement activities carried out by the project.

Selection criteria:

–       At least three year experience working in the field of Project Management in NGOs or Multinational entities

–       Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs or Social/ Political Sciences. Master’s Degree is highly desirable

–       Experience in all phases of project management cycle in NGO or INGO.

–       Experience in working for the United Nations Agencies funded project/s

–       Experience in procurement activities

–       Knowledge of computer applications and financial accounting

–       Fluency in English and Arabic (Kurdish is highly desirable).

–       Ability to work in a team and independently.

 

 

Position Title:   Accounting and Finance Officer

Level:                          Fixed Contract

Remuneration:         1800- 2000 USD/ month – depending on qualifications

Location:                    Erbil

Duration:                   12 months – with possible extension

Start Date:                Subject to funding availability

Reporting to:             Country Director

Task or Specific Activities

–  Upload all data / transactions into accounting software (Quickbooks) and reconcile this data with all invoices,         expenditure and reported transactions.

·  Check and monitor on-going field and support office transactions and incorporate in Quickbooks and financial reports.

·  Assist in the creation of finance policy, including the creation, development, and implementation of financial systems and protocols across the Country Programme

·   Record all financial transactions in line with donor requirements.

·   Manage and reconcile bank/cash accounts, including the preparation of monthly financial accounts for submission, ensuring financial and resource accountability and effective management of records as required for auditing.

·   Coordinate any interim and annual internal and external audits

·   Ensure the proper accounting, recording and allocation of programme income.

·   Prepare monthly cash flow projections, cash forecasts and requests.

·   Assist in the preparation of internal and donor financial and narrative reports, providing soft and hard copies, by the deadline required.

·   Ensure adherence to our donor’s finance and administration guidelines, policies and strategies at all times.

·   Maintain, at all times, accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing accurate and timely information for financial monitoring and progress of programme funds and grants.

·   Maintain collection and storage of regular financial reports, budget and narrative records.

Selection criteria:

–       At least four year experience working in the field of Accounting and Finance for NGOs or Multinational entities

–       Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance. Master’s Degree is highly desirable

–       Experience in leading the Finances and Administration management for NGO

–       Experience in working for the United Nations Agencies funded project

–       Experience in procurement activities

–       Knowledge of computer applications and financial accounting

–       Fluency in English

–       Ability to work in a team and independently.
